Non-Comedogenic Studies
Clinical studies designed to assess non-comedogenicity, evaluating whether a product is likely to clog pores or contribute to comedone formation. Evaluation is based on expert clinical grading of comedones and other skin reactions. These studies are particularly relevant for oily or acne-prone skin formulations.
Study Characteristics
- Typically 30 subjects with oily or acne-prone skin (customizable)
- Minimum study duration of 28 days (4 weeks), with possible extension to 56 days (8 weeks)
- Facial area application
- Subject compliance and tolerance monitoring throughout the study
- Clinical evaluation with comedone/lesion count at baseline and end of study, assessed by a trained Dermatologist or expert grader
